मित्र: एखाद्याचा बोध निव्वळ शाब्दिक नाही हे समजण्याचा नेमका निकष नाही. त्यामुळे साक्षात्काराचे दाखले देत वावदूकाने विद्वानांची थट्टा करावी असा प्रघात रूढ होतो आहे (उदा. ओशो). असो....आपला लेख* आवडला.

नितीनः धन्यवाद अज्ञात मित्र! आपल्या ह्या वैयक्तीक मत प्रदर्शनाबद्दल आभार आणि आपले येथे सप्रेम स्वागत. हा ब्लॉग सर्वांसाठी आपापले दृष्टीकोन मांडण्यासाठी मोकळा आहे.

सत्याचा कधीही आणि कोठलाही आग्रह असू शकत नाही. असत्याचा मात्र कायमच कोठला तरी आग्रह असतो अन्यथा असत्याच्या उपस्थितीवरच प्रश्नचिन्ह् लागू शकते. सत्याचा निकष लावणे स्वाभाविकच अशक्य आहे कारण हा निकष लावणार तरी कोण! "सत्य" ...स्वयंप्रकाशीत आहे. "सत्य" स्वतःचेच "स्वरूप" म्हणून कायमचे उघड झाल्याशिवाय ते शक्य नाही. पण गंम्मत आशी आहे की हे उघड झाल्यावर एकतर त्याचा निकष लावायची गरजच मुळी ऊरत नाही आणि दुसरे म्हणजे कोणी त्याचा निकष लावायला जरी गेले तरी त्याचे देखील दु:ख वाटत नाही. :-) ! पुनश्चः आभार!

मित्र: नितीन रामजी, सप्रेम नमस्कार आणि धन्यवाद. आणखी थोडे मत प्रदर्शन करतो. आग्रह कसलाच नाही. प्रकाशित करण्यायोग्य वाटले तर अवश्य प्रकाशित करा.

१. अध्यात्माचा 'मी आणि माझी मुक्ती' आणि बोध होणे, ज्ञान होणे इतकाच मर्यादित, संकुचित पाया नाही. त्यापुढे भगवद्गीता ३.२५ - ३.२६ हा अत्यंत महत्वाचा भाग आहे. पण लक्षात कोण घेतो? त्यामुळे अध्यात्माच्या नावाखाली सगळीकडे तथाकथित 'अपनी धून मे मस्त' धीन्गाड्या 'मुक्तात्म्यांचा' धिंगाणा चालू आहे.

२. सत्याचा बोध झालेला नैतिक आणि अनैतिक याच्या पलीकडे असतो हे तत्वत: खरे आहे. पण असे देही असोनी विदेही उन्मनी मुक्तात्मे विरळेच असतात. त्यामुळे परिपूर्ण धर्मविचारात निव्वळ अमूर्त संकल्पना, 'फक्त बोध हवा, बास' इतकेच पुरेसे नाही. त्याची परिणती कळत नकळत सामान्यांचा बुद्धिभेद होणे, देव देश आणि धर्म यासाठी कार्य करणार्यांचे नाहक अवमूल्यन होणे आणि बसल्या जागी विश्वात्मक बुद्धी करत भोगलोलूप, पिसाट, धूर्त, आणि बोलबच्चन दुकानदारांनी अध्यात्मातले अध्वर्यू म्हणून मिरवणे यात होते. असो....

नितीनः पुन:श्च्च धन्यवाद आणि आपले हार्दिक स्वागत. आपल्याला अभिप्रेत जे अध्यात्म आहे किंवा आपली जी आध्यात्माची व्याख्या आहे त्या विषयी मी काहीही जाणत नाही. आपला निश्चीतच त्याचा अभ्यास आहे त्यामुळे आपले निरिक्षण कदाचित आपल्या दृष्टीकोनातून बरोबरही असू शकते.

प्रत्येक साधकाच्या विविध अशा पारमार्थिक धारणा, संकल्पना, मान्यता असतात. ह्या धारणांच्या आधारावरच ज्याचा-त्याचा तथाकथित पारमार्थिक शोध चालू असतो. प्रस्थापित धारणांना शक्यतो धक्का लागू न देता शोध घ्यायचा असा बहुतांश साधकांचा आटोकाट प्रयत्नही असतो. हा शोध अनेक मार्गांने, साधनांद्वारे चालू असतो. कोणी ग्रंथ, शास्त्र, पुस्तक, वचने ईत्यादी वाचन करतो तर कोणी नित्यनेम, जप-तप, ध्यान, योग अशा अनेक क्रिया अनुसरतो. अधिकतर साधकांचा 'क्रियेवर, आलंबनावर', साधण्यावर' विश्वास असतो तर फारच थोड्या साधकांची 'मी कर्ता' ह्यावरच दाट संशय असतो. येथे व्यक्ती तितक्या प्रकृती, जितक्या प्रकृती तितके दृष्टीकोन आणि जितके दृष्टीकोन तितके अंगुलीनिर्देष आणि जितके दृष्टीकोन तितक्याच विभिन्न अभिव्यक्ती! असो…

गीता असो वा दासबोध अथवा अजून कोणताही धर्मग्रंथ, गुरुकृपेने मी कधीही हे वाचलेले नाहीत. पण ह्याच गुरुकृपेने, गुरुआशीर्वादाने... हे सारे धर्मग्रंथ मी लिहिलेले नाहीत असे मी म्हणू शकत नाही. कृष्णाने काय सांगितले, काय उपदेश केला ह्या पेक्षा कृष्णाने काय जाणले हे माझ्यासाठी कायमच लक्ष राहिले. कृष्ण जे काही सांगतो आहे ते "कोणाला" सांगतो आहे "त्याकडे" लक्ष राहीले. असो. कृष्णाने सांगितलेली गीता 'आपण अर्जुन आहोत' असे समजून सर्वच वाचतात पण हि गीता आपलीच हकिकत आहे, आपल्याच स्वरुपाची म्हणजेच कृष्णाचीच कथा आहे असे समजून वाचणारा अगदीच दुर्मिळ. असो….जय गुरु......

आपल्या दृष्टीने "देही असोनी विदेही उन्मनी मुक्तात्मे विरळेच असतात". हि देखील मुक्तात्म्यांविषयी एक धारणाच झाली ना! पण तेही स्वाभाविकच आहे. मुक्तात्म्यांना त्यांच्या कृतीवरून ओळखणे हे तर मूळ अज्ञान! आज हजारो वर्षांपासून कृष्णाची गीता वाचली जाते आहे पण कृष्ण देहाकृतीमध्ये असताना केवळ बोटावर मोजता येतील इतकी माणसे होती ज्यांची कृष्णाच्या परमात्म स्वरुपावर श्रद्धा होती. कोणी सांगावे, त्यावेळच्या बाकी सर्वांना कृष्णाच्या लिला आणि युद्धातील सहभाग नक्कीच सलला असावा. त्यांचे कृष्णाच्या 'वर्तनावरच' लक्ष गेले असावे. लक्ष कोठे आहे त्यावर काय दिसणार हे निश्चीत असते. रुपाला रूपच आणि गुणाला गुणच दिसणार ना!. रूप अरूपाला आणि गुण निर्गुणाला कसा काय पाहणार हो! आपल्यासाठी आपण काय आहोत ह्या मान्यतेवरच आपण इतर कोणालाही ओळखू शकतो. जणू आपल्याला असलेली आपली ओळख हा आपल्यापेक्षा वेगळ्या व्यक्तीला/वस्तूला ओळखण्यासाठी एक प्रकारचा चश्मा म्हणून काम करतो. :-) सर्वांना सर्व रुचावे, आवडावे अशी अपेक्षाही नाहीये! असो….

पूर्वपक्षातील साधकांची देहरुप म्हणजेच आपण हि दृढ श्रद्धा, कार्यकारणावर असलेली श्रद्धा पाहून विविध आलंबने दिली जातात. जो पर्यंत साधकाच्या ठायी 'मी आहे' ह्या सहज स्फुरलेल्या जाणीवेबरोबर 'मी वेगळा' आहे हे भान आहे तो पर्यंत त्याला कोठल्याही क्रियेचे आकर्षण आहे, काहि तरी मिळवायची चिंता आहे, कोठेतरी पोचायचे आहे आणि तोपर्यंत त्याला विविध साधने आणि आलंबने दिलेली आहेत. दुसर्या स्तरावरील एक साधक आहे ज्याची कोणत्याही साधनेद्वारे असो अथवा अवचितच पण स्वत;च्या अनुभवातून "देह आपण" ही श्रद्धा ढळलेली आहे किंवा आपले देहरुप हे आपले मूळस्वरूप नाही हे ज्याला उमजलेले आहे, त्याच्यासाठी उत्तरपक्षातील ज्ञान दिले गेलेले आहे.

कृष्णाने उद्धवाला सुरवातीला पूर्वपक्षातले ज्ञानमार्गदर्शन केले आणि एक वेळ अशी आली कि कृष्णाने हे जे आत्तापर्यंत उद्धवाला दिलेले ज्ञान होते ते विसरून जायला सांगितले. स्वाभाविकपणे उद्धव बेचैन झाला, अस्वस्थ झाला आणि मग त्याला कृष्णाने अंतिम म्हणजेच उत्तरपक्षातील ज्ञान (अंगुलीनिर्देष) दिले आणि उद्धव कायमचा मोकळा झाला. उद्धवाला कृष्णाने दिलेल्या उत्तर पक्षामधील ज्ञानाबरोबर त्याचे कृष्णावर निस्सिम प्रेम व अपार श्रद्धा होती हे पण येथे लक्षात घेणे आवश्यक आहे.

ह्या प्रेमाच्या, श्रद्धेच्या, भक्तीच्या नैसर्गिक वंगणामुळे कृष्णाने दिलेल्या अंतिम ज्ञानाबाबत विवेक करणे उद्धवाला सहज आणि सुलभ झाले. अंतिम अवस्थेत जर ज्ञानातून शुद्ध प्रेम उपजत नसेल तर ते ज्ञान केवळ शाब्दीकच ज्ञान ठरते आणि ते साधकाला कायमचे मोकळा करण्यास असमर्थ ठरते. ज्याप्रमाणे प्रेमाची पूर्णता हे आत्मज्ञानाचे अवतरण त्याचप्रमाणे ज्ञानाची पूर्णता म्हणजे शुद्ध प्रेमाचे अवतरण ! पूर्वपक्षामधे जरी ज्ञान व प्रेम हे दोन्ही वेगळे घाट, मार्ग दिसत असले तरी उत्तरपक्षामध्ये हे दोन्ही आपल्याच स्वरुपाचे अविभाज्य अंग म्हणून उघड होतात आणि त्यांमधील भासमय द्वैत सहजच विरून जाते. उत्तरप़क्षामध्ये सर्व काम फक्त विवेकाचे आहे. पुन:श्च्च आपले आभार आणि सप्रेम नमस्कार! जय गुरु......

Is there any living Guru?

MJ: Is there a living guru in the tradition of Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi and Sri Nisargadatta. Not the neo advaitists of today but a living saint. There are too many people looking to make money on discs and books. The real ones would not be in the fish market looking for buyers.

NR: Thanks Mark for your mail. I will share a story with you which I heard many years ago. A diamond merchant dies leaving behind his wife and a 15 year old young son but without any estate or money for their living. The widow accompanies her young son to her husband’s close friend along with a bagful of diamonds kept in custody by her husband. The friend was a diamond merchant and a valuer. Widow shows the bagful of diamonds saved by her deceased husband to his friend and requests him to help to sell these diamonds which could be useful for their living. The friend looks at the bagful of diamonds and suggests that the diamonds should not be sold at this moment as the diamond market is not good. He suggests the widow to send her young son to him for some days as an apprentice so that he can learn the art & practice of diamond business.

 

The young boy starts training cum working at his father’s friend from the next day. Years passed and one day the Diamond merchant asked the young boy to call his mother along with those bagfuls of diamonds saved by his father. The widow happily appears with the bagful of diamonds. The merchant asks the young man to open the bag of diamonds and suggests him to have a look at them. To the surprise of his mother, the boy starts throwing one by one diamonds in the dustbin and thus all the diamonds are thrown in a short while. The window gets angry at her son and asks the explanation. The son replies that all those bagful diamonds are nothing but just colorful stones. She asks her husband’s friend (Diamond Merchant) about why he didn’t tell this truth when she showed him those diamonds few years ago. The diamond merchant replies that had he told her this truth in the first instance she would not have believed him. But now as her son after undergoing the training for few years, now has the eye of recognizing the real and the unreal. He says that he knew that her deceased husband never had so much wealth and he must have kept these unreal diamonds in a safe just for the sake of satisfaction for his family. :-)

 

Now you asked, is there a real Satguru in the tradition of Nisargadatta or Ramana! :-) There is no dearth of them at all except the fact that the one who is looking for Him, if he is ready to SEE or MEET Him. In east there is a belief that the moment the disciple/student/shishya is ready…the Satguru appears. There is no way that the student (Disciple) can pick or find the Satguru but the reality is that the Satguru picks the disciple. How can someone who is sleeping recognize that who is awakened! Another aspect of eastern way of looking is the Satguru can never be found (and that too with the tool of intellect). Most important aspect is that Satguru is not always necessary to be someone in human form. Can’t you see in case of Bhagwan Ramana Maharshi …who his Satguru was! The Arunachala.. .the mountain! :-) In case of Sage Dattareya , he had over hundred Gurus which also include the dog! :-)

 

As I see it, the focus of the seeker is always for searching the Satguru and the seekers search can only be based upon his/her limited understanding of him/herself. Even if you search for the Satguru, it will be through your accepted notions, own definitions about the Satguru. Isn’t it..!! And after all where have Nisargadatta & Ramana gone…!! The appearance has just disappeared… but aren’t they here right now rather in much abundance…and available for anyone with the eye of the heart..!! :-)

 

The seeker who is identified with & as body-bowl will inevitably end up in searching for the Guru in body-bowl form! It is so natural but no one looks at the real question! Have you ever asked yourself the question, “Why can’t I see or meet the real Satguru?” :-) I don’t see anyone asking this most primal question…!! Blindness isn’t only the absence of the eye sight, it is the belief that everyone around is blind! Ignorance isn’t essentially the absence of the knowledge, it is the accepted notion that everyone around is ignorant! The eye of the intelligence sees…… the blindness, ignorance, darkness & incompleteness*; as the ‘limited’ naturally fails to recognize the ‘Unlimited’! The eye of the heart sees none of them*; as the ‘wholeness’ isn’t aware of any of the holes! :-) It is just the matter of seeing with this eye of the heart and you will be amazed with a question arising within you …”What is not SatGuru….?”

 

The farther you search the more chances are that of missing! You miss IT again & again because you are looking for the Flowers and not the Essence…! Have faith and patience… with your eye of the heart open… the Satguru will find you……just BE!!!! :-)

बर्फ वितळल्यावर पाण्याला, वाहायला शिकवावे लागते.....?

उकळत्या पाण्याच्या वाफेला, पसरायला शिकवावे लागते....?

धुंद वारा आल्यावर पानांना, हालायला शिकवावे लागते....?

पावसाचे थेंब प्यायला, जमिनीला कधी शिकवावे लागते...?

फुल उमलल्यावर, सुगंधाला दरवळायला शिकवावे लागते...?

ठिणगी पडल्यावर, भुस्स्याला पेटायला शिकवावे लागते....?

प्रेमातून प्रेम निर्माण करायला, प्रेमाला शिकवावे लागते...?  :-)

ह्या क्षणात 'स्थित' होणे शक्य आहे का...!!!

 

मित्रः सत्य आणि सत्याशिवाय दुसरे काहिच नाही, पण हे होण्यासाठी 'क्षणस्थ' (ह्या क्षणात स्थित) व्ह्यायला शिकणे आवश्यक आहे. जो 'क्षणस्थ' होऊ शकला त्यालाच सत्य उमजले. 

नितीन: ह्या क्षणात स्थित होणे नक्कीच शक्य आहे पण मग तरिही अडचण काय बरं येते...! ह्या क्षणावर विश्वास, श्रद्धा... आहे कोठे..!!! आणि सत्यच नव्हे तर सर्वच आत्ता ह्या क्षणात आहे.... श्वास... स्पंदन.... आपण असल्याची स्पष्ट जाणीव... जगण्याची आशा ... जीवन... ! हा 'क्षण'... विलक्षण आणि परिपूर्ण आहेच पण त्यावर श्रद्धाच नाहि म्हणून तर सारखे सारखे भूत आणि भविष्यामधे बागडणे होते आहे....!

'ह्या क्षणात जगणे' (लिव्ह इन द मोमेंट) वगैरे बरेच काही बर्‍याच लोकांकडून आज-काल ऐकायला मिळते. पण खरी गंम्मत अशी आहे कि ह्या क्षणात जगायला शिकावे लागत नाही कारण ह्या क्षणात खरंतर आख्खे परिपूर्ण जीवनच वाहात आहे ना! ह्या आत्ताच्या परिपूर्ण क्षणात ह्या क्षणाच्यापेक्षा वेगळा असां कोणी उपस्थितच नाहिये... ज्याला ह्या क्षणात राहायचे आहे. हा क्षण आणि त्या क्षणात राहणारा किंवा जगणारा ह्या "द्वयीवरची श्रद्धाच" तर मूळ अडचण आहे! येथे सदैव 'दोन'चा खेळ आहे.... भास आहे. एक नाम हरी... द्वैत नाम दूरी! द्वयीवरची श्रद्धा ढळत नाहि तो पर्यंतच काहि प्रश्न कायमच भेडसावत राहतात. हे प्रश्न म्हणजे ... "मी माझे आयुष्य कसे जगू?".... "मी ह्या वर्तमान क्षणात कसे जगू?" ... "मी काय करू?" ह्या सर्व प्रश्नांच्या मूळाशी जर प्रज्ञेने पाहिले तर लक्षात येते कि येथे "मी- आगळां-वेगळा" हा मूळ भास आहे. मग हा तथाकथीत "आगळां-वेगळा असां- मी" आता जीवन जगण्याची कला शिकायला निघतो आहे.. हाच "मी" आता जीवनाशी एकरूप व्ह्यायला निघतो आहे.... हाच "मी" आता ह्या क्षणात राहायचा प्रयत्न करतो आहे. गंम्म्त आहे ना... बघां...!!! :-)

ह्या आत्ताच्या परिपूर्ण क्षणात अजून काहिही कमतरताच नाहिये... काहिही उणिवच नाहिये. प्रत्येक क्षण हा "परिपूर्ण जीवनच" आहे ह्या स्वानुभूतीतल्या बोधातच सर्व मोकळेपण आहे. ह्या मोकळेपणात अजून काहिही शिकण्याची, होण्याची, कोठेही पोचण्याची आवश्यकता तर सोडाच पण साधी चाहूल पण नाहिये. "येथे" कसलिही हालचालच नाहिये आणि तरिही हालचाल-युक्त जीवन आपसूक यदवत चालू आहे. :-)))

गुरु परमात्मा परेषु...ऐसा ज्याचा दृढ विश्वासु.... तेथे सर्व शक्य आहे... सर्वस्व शक्य आहे!! जय गुरु !!

'जाणीव' कशी निर्माण झाली?

रामकृष्णः 'जाणीव' कशी निर्माण झाली ह्याबद्दल आपण काही प्रकाश टाकू शकता का?

नितीनः मला काहीच 'माहिती' नाही…….!                   
श्री निसर्गदत्त महाराजांच्या शेवटच्या तीन पुस्तकांमध्ये ह्याबद्दल 'माहिती' मिळू शकते अन्यथा पुरातन ग्रंथ बरेच असू शकतात.

माझे लक्ष कोठे असायचे ते मी तुम्हाला सांगू शकतो. मला पडणारे प्रश्न काय असायचे ते मी तुम्हाला सांगू शकतो. "प्रश्न विचारणारा कोण! प्रश्नाचे उत्तर कोणाला पाहिजे आहे! ह्या प्रश्नाचे उत्तर मिळून पण 'प्रश्नहिन' अशी कायम अवस्था उघडी होणार आहे का?"

 एक प्रश्न संपला कि दुसरा उपस्थित होतो, दुसरा संपला कि तिसरा अशी ही अनंत प्रश्न-दशा आहे. प्रश्नांची उत्तरे मिळून बुद्धीला समाधान मिळते पण तेही क्षणिकच ना!!! 'जाणीव' अशी-अशी निर्माण झाली किंवा तशी-तशी निर्माण झाली हे कळून खरच काही उपयोग आहे का !! कोठल्याही प्रकारच्या उत्तराने कायम-स्वरुपी समाधान मिळणार आहे का!! ह्यापूर्वीच्या आपल्याला पडलेल्या प्रश्नांची उत्तरे मिळून देखील नव-नवीन प्रश्न पडणे चालूच आहे ना!!! मग रोज-रोज नुसता 'प्रश्न-उत्तर' हा खेळच खेळत बसायचे कि काय !!!

 नुसत्या उत्तराने कधीच परिणाम येत नाही आणि येणार पण नाही. प्रश्न आणि उत्तर हा फक्त शब्दांचा खेळ झाला किंवा फार तर बौद्धीक उपक्रम. प्रश्नकर्त्याची जो पर्यंत उत्तरदेणार्यावर श्रद्धा असत नाही, विश्वास असत नाही तोपर्यंत मिळालेल्या उत्तराबाबत 'विवेक' होणे केवळ अशक्य! अन्यथा गीतेची, योगवासिष्ट्याची पठणे काय कमी माणसे करतात का ? पण श्रीराम, अर्जुन, ज्ञानेश्वर, जनक, निसर्गदत्त किंवा काही मोजकेच का बरे 'प्रश्नहिन' होवू शकतात!!! श्री निसर्गदत्त महाराजांना काय कमी माणसे भेटली? त्यांची पुस्तके काय कमीजण वाचतात का? बौद्धीक हालचाली पलिकडे काहीतरी आहे ह्यावर श्रद्धा असणारा मात्र दुर्मिळच आणि श्रद्धेवर श्रद्धा असणारा तर अजुनच दुर्मिळ! असो...

 बोधाचे मूळ विवेकात आहे... विवेकाचे मूळ श्रद्धेत आहे नि श्रद्धेचे मूळ प्रेमात आणि प्रेम हा तर आपला मूळ स्वभाव आहे जो सहज, स्वयंस्फूर्त नि अकारण आहे.

 मग 'कायम' असे जे समाधान आहे त्याची चौकशी झाली, त्याचा अध्यास झाला तर तेच 'कायम-समाधान' तत्काळ उघड होते. आपल्यामधील हा 'अज्ञात प्रश्नकर्ता' आहे तरी कोण*, ह्याचा ध्यास लागला तर प्रश्नकर्त्यातून कायमची सुटका होउ शकते हे निश्चित! पण ह्या मूळ प्रश्नाकडे* आत्ता जर लक्ष द्यायचे नसेल तर उरलेल्या सर्व प्रश्नांची उत्तरे अनेक ग्रंथांमध्ये, पुस्तकांमध्ये मिळू शकतात. पण ह्या मूळ प्रश्नाचे उत्तर कायमच आपल्याला आपल्यातच मिळते हे नक्की! बाकी भेटी अंती.....

श्रद्धा हरवली आहे हो...! आत्ता तर इथेच होती...!!!
जेमे-तेम दोन-तीन वर्षांची भोळी श्रद्धा! कायम तर घरीच असायची!
आहे-नाहीच्या भानात पण नसायची! अचानक कोठे गेली ही श्रद्धा!!
श्रद्धा हरवली आहे हो...! आत्ता तर इथेच होती...!!!

कदाचित कल्पनेच्या पंखावर बसून भरकटली असावी;
शब्दांच्या बाजारात न कळतच अडकलेली असावी!
श्रद्धा हरवली आहे हो...! आत्ता तर इथेच होती...!!!

नकळत संशयाची उसनी चप्पल घालून गेली असावी;
मुक्तीच्या शोधात कोठेतरी अडखळलेली असावी!
श्रद्धा हरवली आहे हो...! आत्ता तर इथेच होती...!!!

कोणी म्हणते स्वतःचे घर शोधायला गेली असावी;
कोणी म्हणते कुलुपाची किल्ली शोधायला गेली असावी!
श्रद्धा हरवली आहे हो...! आत्ता तर इथेच होती...!!!

काही म्हणतात शांतीला शोधायला गेली असावी;
काही म्हणतात आनंदाला शोधायला गेली असावी!
श्रद्धा हरवली आहे हो...! आत्ता तर इथेच होती...!!!

कोणी सांगतात ज्ञानार्जन करायला गेली असावी;
कोणी म्हणतात योगाभ्यासात गुरफटली असावी!
श्रद्धा हरवली आहे हो...! आत्ता तर इथेच होती...!!!

कोणी म्हणते तिला विचारांची विषबाधा झालेली असावी;
कोणी म्हणते भ्रमाच्या भोवर्यात अडकलेली असावी!
श्रद्धा हरवली आहे हो...! आत्ता तर इथेच होती...!!!

कोणी म्हणतात एकटेपणाला वैतागलेली असावी;
कोणी म्हणतात स्वतःपासून दूर पळाली असावी!
श्रद्धा हरवली आहे हो...! आत्ता तर इथेच होती...!!!

आता जवळपास पन्नास साठ सत्तर वर्षे झाली कि हो....
काय माहीत निरागस श्रद्धा कोठे कोठे फिरते आहे अजून!!
काय माहित का स्वतःपासून लांब लांब पळते आहे अजून!!
श्रद्धा हरवली आहे हो...! आत्ता तर इथेच होती...!!!

कदाचित एव्हाना आपला निरागसपणा हरवून बसलेली असावी;
कोणी सांगावे कदाचित बुद्धीच्या अलंकारांनीही मढलेली असावी!
श्रद्धा हरवली आहे हो...! आत्ता तर इथेच होती...!!! :-)

ऐका...अहो...ऐका!!! ही पहा श्रद्धा इथेच तर आहे की...!!
अहो श्रद्धेला आत्ताच “जाग” आली! श्रद्धा जागच्या जागीच "जागी" झाली हो..!!
श्रद्धा… स्वगृहातच जागी झाली...!! श्रद्धेला पडले होते स्वप्न; अहो जागेपणातले स्वप्न..!! श्रद्धा कोठे गेलीच नाही आणि आलीही नाही!! स्वप्नातलेच ते हरवणे आणि स्वप्नातलाच तो "शोध"...!! आता मात्र श्रद्धा श्रद्धेलाच भेटली....खरीखुरी..!! श्रद्धा स्वतःलाच भेटली...कायमचीच! ............आपलीच भेट आपणासी...!!! आता कोठ्ले जाणे आणि येणे...!!!

Eye of the Heart

Blindness isn’t only the absence of the eye sight,

it is the belief that everyone around is blind!

Ignorance isn’t essentially the absence of the knowledge,
it is the accepted notion that everyone around is ignorant!

Darkness isn’t only the absence of the light,
it is the faith that everyone around is in darkness!

Incompleteness isn’t always the absence of completeness;
it is the false belief that everyone around is incomplete!

The intelligence (mind) fails to recognize its own limitations;
as its foundation is based on the boulder called doubt!

The heart never has any limitations;
as it’s based on the naturally found sponge called love!

The eye of the intelligence sees……
the blindness, ignorance, darkness & incompleteness*;
as the ‘limited’ naturally fails to recognize the ‘Unlimited’!

The eye of the heart sees none of them*;
as the ‘wholeness’ isn’t aware of any of the holes! :-)

Where is the confusion!



AN: Hi Nitin, I've never been to India, but I was driven from an early age to find out if all this was real and if there was a better way to live, if humans were meant to be happier. I tried Christianity and all the Western esoteric stuff available, New Age, etc., and I never got close to any kind of answer. Then finally I came across "I AM THAT" and during my reading of that book, I knew that was the end. Things quickly fell away right after that. It was my typical twenty-five-year search, and all of it contributed to my being ready to hear what Nisargadatta was saying, but I still don't know anyone else who says it as clearly as he does. Without him, I might still be stumbling around in the dark.

Is Nisargadatta considered sort of "unorthodox," or renegade, in Advaita terms? I mean, does he say things that don't fit the party line? For instance, he sometimes says there is no reincarnation (because there is no individual soul) which resonates with me, but I have heard him criticized for that. Even his Guru Siddharameshwar seems to think there is some "further to go" that I don't understand. Nisargadatta cuts through all of that and I wonder if he was a trail-blazer in that regard.

NR: Thanks for the mail. I am very glad to read it. I have met many who were bowled out through I AM THAT ;-) Frankly I never read I AM THAT in totality but it is a mixed up discussion sessions with Nisargadatta Maharaj where Seekers apparently from different levels of comprehensions or understanding asking Him questions and His specific answers pointed towards their specific questions or their at that moment understanding.

Even Nisargadatta Maharaj answered in affirmative when asked about Re-Birth concept to some seekers (who were apparently on preliminary comprehension level) but later in His last days He spoke only the FINAL TRUTH without any dilution and discarded the concept of reincarnation. :-)

As I see, most of the Indian sages have taught distinctively on two levels to their students/disciples. (Level is conceptual only) Those on primary levels were given relative truths/pointers which they could digest and comprehend from where they were at that point of time. Most of the Masters found that 99.99% belong to this category. And the others, one in a million were given the Final truths which they instantly COGNIZED within and were out of the game of seeking enlightenment ;-)

The confusion happens when such mixed up discussions are read together. Naturally there will be strong contradictions. But when seen in and as TOTALITY there is no contradiction at all. It is like one discussion is for the kindergarten student and the other is for the graduate student! The Sat-guru is like a traffic signal post built-in with Red & Yellow & also Green signals! The colour of the signal changes depending upon the traveler! ;-) The traveler with questions are shown Red, the traveler with gestalt of understanding are shown Yellow and to those without any question are shown Green Lol. From the outset it looks contradictory but like the signal post, the Sat-Guru/ Truth/ Real Nature is all comprehensive!

In the same way, as I see it, I AM THAT is a kind of elementary book which is great for the beginners as there is a lot of mixed-up stuff. One can relate or resonate with one or the other thing in it. :-) But many get stuck here and get lost in the words. :-) Words are beautiful and in a way easy to understand intellectually but the RECOGNITION or UNDERSTANDING of the entity ‘which’ understands those words… is totally different thing :-)

I call it, Being is ‘ease’ and Becoming...a Dis’ease’ :-) When this ‘ease’ is dis’covered’, unconcealed, revealed....it is unstoppable. :-) Thank you so much once again.

AN: Thank you for answering my question about Nisargadatta. I agree with you that the teachings have to be given at two very different levels that will end up seeming contradictory. "I AM THAT" is like that. But it's a great book to open people's eyes, I don't know why. I feel Maharaj's presence on the page... I never felt that reading any other book. The line that really shocked me was, roughly: "I am coming to you from outside your dream to tell you that you are dreaming." It was the first time I realized that my dream was not the whole story! :-)

Most people aren't ever going to understand the final teaching, as you and I know. It unfolds as it will. I don't know why I bother to write and have a website, when I think it's really all just a matter of the randomness of conditioning...I happened to be conditioned to search and to need it all to make logical sense and to be "earnest" and not give up. And so there it was. But I don't understand why "me," and of course, there is no "me," so that's the answer.

JK: Master of your fate or its victim. Which are you? I believe your oneness with God and your thinking process determines your fate every moment of your life.

NR: You enquired, "Master of your fate or its victim. Which are you?” Be it Fate or Destiny or Victim....all these concepts necessarily revolve around seekers identification with & as this 'body-mind bowl'. In fact most of our understanding revolve around this 'body-mind bowl' pivot and somehow could not end the sufferings eternally. Prior to arising of this 'body-mind bowl' there existed none of the concepts including concept of 'you', 'God', 'fate', 'victim' or even 'life'.

You said, "I believe your oneness with God and your thinking process determines your fate every moment of your life." You can believe whatever you wish, but not to forget that each strong belief has the potency to manifest. :-) And if that is the case why have such beliefs which still bind you?! Why have such beliefs which enmesh you again in newer concepts!? ‘Fate or Destiny’ is one of such concepts which revolve around basic concept or assumption of being this separated 'body-mind bowl'. There could be umpteen concepts that revolve around this basic concept or assumption of being this separated 'body-mind bowl'. But if this basic concept is challenged the seeking surely ends with dissolution of any possible concept and coming HOME happens
which is independent of not only any beliefs but also any doubts.
The undeniable TRUTH about 'who you really are' is revealed
which is a 'no-question' stateless state! Best wishes!
